Aim High: Moody Airman’s unconventional path to pilot wings
Capt. Robert Poe, 74th Fighter Squadron chief of safety and A-10C Thunderbolt II pilot, poses for a photo, June 28, 2019, at Moody Air Force Base, Ga. Poe is one of the few Airmen who have earned three different aviation badges. During his 15-year career, Poe earned his enlisted aircrew wings as a boom operator for KC-135 Stratotankers, then commissioned as a navigator for the U-28A aircraft and earned his combat systems officer badge. In 2013 he cross-trained to earn his pilot wings and become an A-10 pilot. (U.S. Air Force photo by Airman 1st Class Eugene Oliver)
