JAMES A. DUNN James A. Dunn is Director, Strategic Deterrence and Nuclear Integration, Air Combat Command, Langley Air Force Base, Va. The A10 directorate guides and oversees ACC staff activities to maintain an enduring position within the nuclear enterprise as the lead command for dual capable aircraft. With other directorates, A10 integrates and synchronizes activities across ACC in order to provide trained forces, sustainment actions and support to U.S. Air Forces in Europe for extended nuclear deterrence. The directorate also ensures guidance and policy sustains training, provisioning and support to tasked commands and units in nuclear and other strategic deterrent missions. A10 is the command focal point for developing and sustaining relationships with Air Force Global Strike Command, supporting AFGSC forces' integration into combat air force operations, training and exercises in support of combatant commander requirements. Mr. Dunn graduated from the University of South Carolina and entered the Air Force through Officer Training School where he earned his commission Nov. 7, 1981. He is a master navigator with more than 4,600 flying hours in the B-52, and has been assigned to numerous operational, command and staff positions. He commanded the 40th Expeditionary Operations Group, was Deputy Commander of the 2d Operations Group, and Commander of the 2d Operations Support Squadron, the backbone of B-52 flying operations during Operations Enduring Freedom and Iraqi Freedom. He is a graduate of the U.S. Air Force Weapons School and served as an instructor and operations officer for the school's B-52 division. He has served on the U.S. Strategic Command staff, culminating as Chief, Aircraft Plans, in the plans and policy directorate. He graduated from the Air Command and Staff College, Joint Staff College and Air War College.
