RANDOLPH AIR FORCE BASE, Texas --   Travel to Langley Air Force Base, Va., and Dover AFB, Del., is prohibited until further notice, as the installations prepare for the arrival of Hurricane Irene, officials announced Aug. 26.

In addition, Airmen with travel orders to other installations along the eastern seaboard are advised to keep an eye on the weather and contact their current base personnel sections for information before travelling.

Stateside members projected for a permanent change of station to Langley or Dover and those who have out-processed but not yet departed their current duty stations must not depart until further notice. Those planning to take leave en route may still do so, officials said, but they may not take leave in the stop movement area and must be prepared to be charged additional leave if the stop movement order has not been lifted by the time their leave ends.

Airmen with temporary duty orders to Langley or Dover, and Airmen assigned to Langley or Dover who are currently TDY elsewhere may not proceed or return to the base until further notice, as well.

Although the Air Force Personnel Accountability and Assessment System has not yet been activated, Airmen affected by the stop movement or by the hurricane should keep an eye on the news and, when instructed to do so, should log into AFPAAS to report their status. To access the system, go to https://afpaas.af.mil or call 800-435-9941.

For more information about the stop movement, affected military members should contact their military personnel section, or call the AFPC assignment programs and procedures branch at 210-565-3815, or the AFPC 24-hour personnel readiness cell at 210-565-2020 or 800-435-9941. Civilians affected can contact their local civilian personnel section, the 24-hour number above or the AFPC civilian personnel representative at 210-565-5737.
