  • 563rd RQG realigns to the 355th FW

    The 563rd Rescue Group, a geographically-separated unit out of Moody Air Force Base, Georgia, was realigned from the 23rd Wing to Davis-Monthan AFB’s 355th Fighter Wing Oct. 1, 2018. The realignment brought all rescue squadrons and maintenance units that fall under the 563rd RQG, to include other geographically-separated assets located at Nellis AFB, Nevada, under the supervision of the 355th FW.

    They may be dramatically visible – a missing limb or facial scar. They may also dwell beneath the skin’s surface as mental trauma that persists long after its elicited events. For many veterans, their wounds are obstacles, but for one there is nothing that can hinder his strive for excellence. After serving 14 years, a misfortune occurred that prevented U.S. Air Force Tech. Sgt. Derrall Peach Jr. from legally doing his job as a ground transportation craftsman with the 355th Logistics Readiness Squadron.
  • Davis-Monthan named top base in the Air Force

    The Office of the Secretary of Defense named Davis-Monthan the top base in the Air Force for the second time in six years. The base won the 2018 Commander-in-Chief's Installation Excellence Award, which recognizes the outstanding and innovative efforts of the service members who operate and maintain U.S. military installations. Davis-Monthan last won the award in 2012.

  • Holocaust survivors share their stories with D-M

    Five Holocaust survivors shared their stories during the annual Holocaust Remembrance Day Ceremony at the Desert Dove Chapel here, April 24. The ceremony invited Airmen to listen to personal stories of Holocaust survivors, and to participate in a candle lighting to memorialize the 6 million Jews and millions of others that lost their lives during the genocide
  • ACC Outstanding Airmen (2017) Announced

    U.S. Air Force Gen. Hawk Carlisle commander of Air Combat Command announced the ACC Outstanding Airmen of the Year (OAY), First Sergeant of the Year (FSOY) Annual award Winners today. "Each year, we select one Airman from each category to represent the amazing Airmen of Air Combat Command. My thanks to each of you for taking the time to nominate all of the individuals submitted. The caliber of those nominated was impressive to say the least. It was an extremely close competition....all should be very proud," said Gen. Carlisle.
  • 55th RQS: These things we do, that others may live

The 55th Rescue Squadron focuses on training and executing CSAR missions by employing the HH-60G Pave Hawk helicopter.
