Jonathan Herrera and Senior Airman Anthony Castro, both assigned to the 380th Expeditionary Logistics Readiness Squadron Petroleum, Oil and Lubricants flight, are experiencing their first and last deployments together at Al Dhafra Air Base, United Arab Emirates.
  • Dental clinic keeps deployers in fight

    Whenever a member suffers from dental problems, his or her ability to perform the mission is affected. To prevent this, the 380th Expeditionary Medical Group’s dental clinic at Al Dhafra Air Base, United Arab Emirates, analyzes and treats the problem. The dental team is comprised of Col. Mike Webb and Master Sgt. Andrey Hernandez who provides dental readiness exams for permanent party and 365-day deployers, along with emergency treatment for uncontrolled pain, swelling, sensitivity and broken teeth or fillings.

    The 380th Air Expeditionary Wing consists of four groups executing the warfighting mission. One of these groups, the 380th Expeditionary Medical Group, provides various medical care and services supporting more than 3,500 deployed personnel at Al Dhafra Air Base, United Arab Emirates. To achieve success, they are focused on evolving as a high-reliability organization by embedding innovation and Continuous Process Improvement at every level. By strengthening host nation and coalition partnerships, they increase efficacy and maximize the extension of medical benefits to all through enabling and empowering Phantom Medics through deliberate professional leadership development.
  • Al Dhafra Air Base celebrates U.S. Air Force 71st Birthday

    380th Air Expeditionary Wing gathered to cook a steak feast in celebration for the U.S. Air Forces 71st Birthday. Chief Master Sergeants and senior leadership from around the 380th Air Expeditionary Wing began the process of cooking thousands of steak dinners for the Airmen serving at Al Dhafra Air Base in honor of the U.S. Air Forces’ birthday on Sept. 18. While the Chiefs dedicated this steak grill to the 71st anniversary of the Air Forces separation from the Army Signal Corps in 1947, they have been volunteering their time to cook steak dinners for the past months regularly.
