As the 9th Air Force commander, Zobrist is responsible for ensuring combat support capabilities from eight wings and three direct reporting units, consisting of more than 400 aircraft and 29,000 active-duty Airmen and civilians. The 820th Base Defense Group showcased their abilities to leadership from the 9th Air Force. Airmen used vehicles, weapons, simulated detecting improvised explosive devices and secured hostile areas. This was Maj. Gen. Scott Zobrist's, 9th Air Force commander, first official visit to the 93rd Air Ground Operations Wing since taking command in May 2016. He was accompanied by Chief Master Sgt. Two F-22 Raptors from Langley AFB, Va., arrived in Santiago, Chile to participate in the International Air and Space Fair (FIDAE), March 27, 2016.
