55th WG maintainers nab top award Published Dec. 13, 2005 LANGLEY AIR FORCE BASE, Va. -- The 55th Wing distinguished itself as the winner of the Air Combat Command Clements McMullen Memorial Daedalian Weapon System Maintenance Trophy and will go on to represent ACC at the Air Force level competition.The three finalists were the 4th Fighter Wing at Seymour-Johnson AFB, S.C., the 55th Wing at Offutt AFB, Neb., and the 355th Wing at Davis-Monthan AFB, Ariz.The competition was extremely tough, said Lt. Gen. William M. Fraser III, ACC vice commander, but the 55th Wing maintainers have proven themselves the best of the best.The ACC Daedalian Trophy recognizes the unit that best meets the objective of providing safe, serviceable and available equipment for sustained use in peacetime and in war time.
