U. S. Army Lt. Col. David Thompson, an oral maxillofacial, or mouth and jaw surgeon, photographs a patient’s condition during an appointment at the Korean Humanitarian hospital on Bagram Airfield, Afghanistan, July 30. The patient has a hole in the roof of his palate and the cause is undetermined. Two doctors, an ear nose and throat surgeon, and an oral surgeon, assigned to the Craig Joint Theater Hospital here, visit the hospital every Tuesday morning to see local Afghan patients.
