    Hill has earned another big piece in the future of sustaining the F-35, America’s newest fighter jet. The base already provides depot level modifications and maintenance on the Air Force’s entire F-35 fleet. Now, the Ogden Air Logistics Complex’s 309th Software Maintenance Group will be part of an Air Force and Navy team that provides organic software support for the F-35.

    41st maintainers reach perfection

    When most Airmen on the flightline see aircraft tail number A6773 flying through the sky, they see a typical HH-60G Pave Hawk helicopter. Now because of the hard work from the 41st Helicopter Maintenance Unit, they see a distinct mythical unicorn that hasn’t been seen in 10 years. These Airmen dedicated hundreds of hours of hard work to achieve not one, but three “black letter initials,” a marking of approval on an inspection checklist certifying that the aircraft is not only mission-ready, but it is operationally perfect: zero discrepancies, zero write-ups and zero inspection violations.

    MH Gunfighters visit aerospace production line

    While some may think that the gap between the civilian and military sectors in national security has grown over the years, an inside look at a defense factory proves how valuable they are to one another. Col. Jefferson O’Donnell, 366th Fighter Wing commander, and fellow Gunfighters were able to visit those in the civilian sector who directly contribute to the defense of the nation last week when they toured defense contractor factories in St. Louis, Missouri.

    54th Fighter Group pilots fly future flight surgeons

    Holloman flies toward future

    The United States Air Force provides day and night support to troops all around the world, and Holloman Air Force Base’s remotely piloted aircraft training mission is at the forefront. “We are making the transition from the Block 1 MQ-9 Reaper and Block 15 Ground Control Station to the Block 5 MQ-9 Reaper and the Block 30 GCS,” said Lt. Col. Alfred Rosales, 6th Attack Squadron commander. “Quite frankly it is a step in the right direction toward the innovation piece that the RPA community has been founded on.” Holloman’s step forward with introducing an upgraded Block 5 and Block 30 to its training arsenal represents a constant strive for innovation.

    Team Robins finishes Global Hawk work ahead of schedule

    A special ribbon cutting ceremony, signaling the early completion of work on the first RQ-4 Global Hawk at Robins, was held on the base flight line June 29. The arrival of this unmanned aerial vehicle marks the first time an aircraft of this type has flown in to an Air Force air logistics complex.
