LANGLEY AIR FORCE BASE, Va. -- An Advanced Concept Ejection Seat II ejection system from an F-22 Raptor rests on a workstation following a pre-flight inspection at the 1st Component Maintenance Squadron egress shop, May 12. The system includes the seat, fitted with gas lines in the F-15 and electrical circuitry in the F-22, which in the case of an ejection, will trigger a series of synapses to orchestrate the ejection process. A telescoping rocket is affixed to the back of the seat, which propels the seat from the cockpit. (U.S. Air Force photo/Airman 1st Class Jason J. Brown)
