71st AMU keeps 'Combat Kings' mission ready

Airman 1st Class Gary Scott, left, 347 Operations Support Squadron aircrew flight equipment (AFE) apprentice, carries AFE onto an HC-130J Combat King II, Aug. 13, 2019, at Moody Air Force Base, Ga. Airmen from the 71st Aircraft Maintenance Unit and other supporting units perform various tasks prior to takeoff to ensure the aircraft is performing optimally to complete its mission of supporting the 71st Rescue Squadron. Those tasks consist of: pre-flight inspection, securing equipment, removing plugs and cover, repairing any problems found during crew pre-flight checks as well as marshaling the aircraft for takeoff.
