  • 38th RQS Airman receives Silver Star

    U.S. Air Force Maj. Gen. Chad P. Franks, 15th Air Force commander, presented Staff Sgt. Nicholas Brunetto, 38th Rescue Squadron pararescueman, with a Silver Star Medal Oct. 29. Brunetto performed a lifesaving procedure on a severely-injured teammate while deployed in February 2020 in support of Operation Freedom’s Sentinel and the Resolute Support mission.
  • COMACC presents BSM to 38th RQS Airman

    Gen. Mike Holmes, commander of Air Combat Command, presented a Bronze Star Medal with Valor to an Airman assigned to the 38th Rescue Squadron (RQS) Aug. 26, here. While deployed to Afghanistan in 2018, Staff Sgt. Aaron Metzger, 38th RQS pararescueman, engaged in action against an enemy of the United States.
  • Airmen partner toward quicker deployments

    Rescue Airmen from the 23d Wing visited the Devil Raiders of the 621st Contingency Response Wing (CRW), to better understand the essential assets to stand up rescue operations from bare-base situations. Although the 23d Wing’s mission to organize, train, equip and maintain combat-ready for Air Combat Command, and the 621st CRW focuses on rapidly organizing and standing up bare bases for Air Mobility Command aircraft, they both believed they could learn from each other.
  • 48th RQS maintains AIE proficiency

    Pararescuemen assigned to the 48th Rescue Squadron took part in alternate insertion/extraction training at Davis-Monthan Air Force Base, Ariz., Oct. 18, 2016.  The 48th RQS deploys worldwide in support of national security objectives and homeland defense, providing highly trained experts capable of quickly and effectively executing personnel
