Al Udeid Air Base, Qatar – In the military, it’s not uncommon to hear the phrases “it’s a small world,” or “our paths will cross again;” however, for a staff sergeant deployed to the Middle East, those phrases would hit very close to home when she wasn’t greeted by a friend or a co-worker, but rather, her sister.

Many military leaders can attest that the ability to conduct operations and win in modern warfare is rooted in a nation’s ability to work by, with, and through allies and partners. For the United States and U.S. Air Forces Central Command, the ability to conduct and deliver combat airpower alongside partner air forces has increased as its close partner, Qatar, has solidified details and logistics with U.S. government organizations and contractors to procure its own fleet of 48 F-15QA fighter jets. The Qatar Emiri Air Force is scheduled to start receiving these fighter jets in June 2021. The F-15QA is the most advanced version of the F-15 Eagle, the twin-engine fighter jet flown by the U.S. Air Force since 1972.

He recounts those who have been able to help him get where he's at now, and how he has been able to help others get where they are now. A celebration of leaders, McPherson's journey has been one of humility matched with the courage to be the best Airman he can be, for himself and others.

The Glass Titan Mission team was on the crew bus headed to their jet to conduct a mission, when their mission commander flagged them down and said, “change of plans; you have two hours to prepare.” It’s flexibility like that as well as rapid global mobility, unwavering endurance, precise mission execution and expedited data analysis that helped this team earn the Air Force’s Nuclear Deterrence Operations Professional Team of the Year.
