Colonel RAYMOND J. “DOOGIE” CLYDESDALE

Colonel Raymond J. Clydesdale is the Command Surgeon, Headquarters Air Combat Command (ACC), Joint Base Langley-Eustis, Virginia. He delivers Ground Medical capability in support of Combatant Command Global Force Management requirements. He organizes, trains, equips, and sustains combat-ready medical forces for rapid deployment and employment. He is responsible to the ACC Commander for the wartime readiness of over 154,000 total force military and civilian personnel located at 12 ACC installations, 1,336 units at more than 263 operating locations worldwide. He is also responsible for the oversight and delivery of $617M in Ground Medical War Reserve Material, $84M in worldwide installation Medical All Hazards Response material, and the training and equipping of 40K personnel in Chemical, Biological, Radiological, Nuclear, and Explosives defense.

Col. Clydesdale entered active duty in 2002, completed two operational flight surgeon tours, and graduated from the Air Force Residency in Aerospace Medicine. He previously commanded at the squadron and group levels, served as the National Defense University Command Surgeon, and the Deputy Command Surgeon for United States Space Force. Colonel Clydesdale is board-certified in aerospace and occupational medicine.  

Prior to his current assignment, Col Clydesdale was the Commander, 375th Medical Group, Scott Air Force Base, Illinois.
