Major General BRYAN E. SALMON

Maj. Gen. Bryan E. Salmon is the Air National Guard Assistant to the Commander, Air Combat Command, Langley Air Force Base, Virginia as well as the Special Assistant to the Director of the Air National Guard, Washington D.C. As the ANG Assistant to COMACC he assists in organizing, training, equipping and maintaining combat-ready air, cyberspace, and electromagnetic spectrum forces for rapid deployment and employment while ensuring strategic air defense forces are ready to meet the challenges of peacetime air sovereignty and wartime defense. As Special Assistant to the DANG he assists the Director in formulating, developing, and coordinating all policies, plans and programs affecting 108,400 Air National Guard Airmen and civilians across 90 wings and 180 installations in 159 communities throughout the 50 states, District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, Guam and Virgin Islands.

General Salmon was commissioned in 1994 upon graduation from the U.S. Air Force Academy. He has served as the ACC Director of Air National Guard Forces (CG), ANG Special Access Program Management Officer (SAPMO), located at Joint Base Langley-Eustis, VA. and Air National Guard Assistant to the Commander 15th Air Force, Shaw AFB, S.C. Prior to his selection as the Air National Guard Assistant to the Commander of ACC and Special Assistant to the Director of the ANG, General Salmon was the Air National Guard Assistant to the Commander First Air Force, DCFACC, Tyndall AFB, Fla.

General Salmon is a command pilot with more than 2,600 flying hours, including more than 220 hours leading combat missions in Operations Southern Watch and Northern Watch. In his civilian capacity, he is a pilot with a major transport company.
