The 48th Rescue Squadron based at Davis-Monthan Air Force Base, Ariz., hosted six pararescue teams from across the nation for the bi-annual PJ Rodeo competition.

Established in 2004, the weeklong competition simulates real world scenarios testing the core skill sets of each team, which include trauma medicine, military free-fall and static-line parachuting, rifle and pistol marksmanship and field/survival skills that work to foster teamwork and esprit de corps among the entire Guardian Angel community.

The 48th RQS placed first among the seven teams with the 306th RQS, a reserve unit also based at Davis-Monthan and the 308th RQS, a reserve unit based in Patrick Air Force Base, Fla., taking second and third, respectively.
