The command chief master sergeant of Air Combat Command visited Beale, Aug. 10 through 12.

During his visit, Chief Master Sgt. Martin S. Klukas addressed Beale's newest senior noncommissioned officers during an induction ceremony and visited several units on base to interact with Airmen and learn about the mission of the 9th Reconnaissance Wing.

"There is no shortage of action and great warriors doing great things here at Beale," Chief Klukas said. "Seeing Airmen in the fight operating from home base is truly amazing."

He was impressed with the members of Beale's key spouse club and their commitment to improving the quality of life for the installation.

"Those spouses are motivated to help Beale's family members make it through the tough times and celebrate the great times," Chief Klukas said.

He said ACC leadership is improving the quality of life of Airmen and their families.

"We pride ourselves on indentifying and recognizing that people are our most important asset," he said. "What we do to help Airmen succeed is a big deal ... General Fraser (ACC commander) and our staff are definitely committed to taking care of all our Airmen and their families."

With the Air Force recently opening up social media to Airmen, Chief Klukas said it will give leadership another avenue to connect with young Airmen.

"Operating in that environment will give leadership a leg up in that they will know to battle-check what's going with Airmen and their families," he said. "Social media provides opportunities for leaders when they get face-to-face with their Airmen ... they will know some of the issues and things that are going on in their lives."

The advice he offers Airmen coming up through the ranks is to be the best at what they do no matter how small the job and always seek to improve.

"You do your best, regardless of the task at hand, and then I think we will win all of the time," he said. "If we can raise the bar just a little bit every day and to make work more efficient, we can buy back some time to spend with our family members."

He said fitness is also a very important aspect of military image and achieving a peak physical performance will help job performance.

"Personally, I perform at a higher level the more fit I am," he said. "I am more efficient and effective at my work.  I think that once people start to realize how good they feel and how much more full their lives will be with being fit, (physical training) will always be a priority with them."

During the senior NCO induction ceremony, he told Beale's newest senior NCOs to take their additional responsibility seriously and take care of their junior Airmen.

"You were promoted because of what you are able to do with our future warriors: Get at that, take care of the warriors and lead well," he said.
