As of May 1, Gunfighters can visit and participate on the official Mountain Home Air Force Base Gunfighters page on Facebook and the 366th Fighter Wing channel on YouTube from their government computers.

To view the official page on Facebook and channel on YouTube, users may visit www.facebook.com/mountainhome.af.mil or www.youtube.com/366FW. Neither site requires members to have a Facebook or YouTube account, although if users desire to participate and interact with the sites, they will have to create a personal profile or account.

The 366th Fighter Wing Public Affairs staff, in coordination with base leadership, has been working on the official page on Facebook and channel on YouTube since February.

"Our page on Facebook already has more than 300 fans and our channel on YouTube has more than 200 views," said Col. John Bird, 366th Fighter Wing commander. "We created the page and channel to give Airmen more access to base leadership in addition to giving everyone more opportunities to champion their Air Force story by sharing their Gunfighter stories, photos, videos and comments."

To encourage more people to use the page and channel as a source of information, Colonel Bird said he has established a "Gunfighter 1,000" goal of reaching more than 1,000 fans on Facebook and more than 1,000 views on YouTube before Col. Ronald Buckley, incoming commander, holds his first commander's call June 18.

"In two months, without any effort to publicize our social media sites, we have already obtained one third of our goal," he said. "Imagine how fast we can make our audience grow now that the word is out. Let's give our new commander a big 366th welcome and show our Gunfighter pride by actively participating in both of these sites."

Colonel Bird added that base leadership will regularly interact and participate on the page on Facebook starting with a status update to the page wall from our command chief sometime next week.
