99th Air Base Wing received an overall "Excellent" rating at the conclusion of an Air Combat Command Phase I Operational Readiness Inspection, which took place Jan. 25-29.

The results for the ORI, for which the 99 ABW had been preparing since June, were announced by the ACC Inspector General team chief during an outbrief at The Nellis Club.

"We were truly impressed with the motivation, dedication and positive attitude displayed by the 99th Air Base Wing during this ORI," said Col. Mark Moore, ACC inspection team chief.

During the ORI, Nellis demonstrated its ability to implement increased security procedures, gain 100 percent accountability of all Airmen in a minimal amount of time, prepare Airmen for quick deployment, and continue with daily operations that help accomplish the Air Force mission.

"Over the past nine months, I have asked a lot from the Airmen and civilians of this wing, and they have delivered," said Col. Dave Belote, 99th ABW commander. "Nothing makes me more proud as a commander than to see our wing show off our pride in what we do and demonstrate excellence with a capital 'E.'"

"Everyone in the wing knew their job and did it to the greatest of their ability," said Chief Master Sgt. Alfred Herring, 99th ABW command chief. "The grade of 'Excellent' is just a reflection of the hard work all the Airmen in the wing put toward accomplishing the task at hand."
