Officials announce 2008 Air Force Safety Awards Published May 27, 2009 Air Combat Command Public Affairs LANGLEY AIR FORCE BASE, Va. -- Air Force officials recently announced the 2008 safety award winners, and Air Combat Command took several of the safety honors. "While the competition across all major commands is keen, our ACC Airmen winning at Air Force level speaks volumes to the pride we feel for their selfless efforts," said Col. Roger Wagner, ACC director of safety. "Their display of skill and ingenuity is often unmatched." He added that he's proud of the supervisors, commanders and leaders in the field who take the time required to recognize their stellar performers for their dedication to the mission - and to each other. "This recognition continues to be a vital avenue towards building a culture of pride and performance while valuable lessons are learned and morale is boosted," Colonel Wagner said. "It's also an easy way to showcase the outstanding talent and technical proficiency of ACC's most precious resource--our Airmen."
