Gunfighters paused to remember Tech. Sgt. Donald P. Stachum during a memorial service held in Hangar 1333 April 9.

Sergeant Stachum was a member of the 366th Security Forces Squadron and passed away April 5. The incident is still under investigation.

Sergeant Stachum enlisted in the Air Force in 1994 and was assigned to Mountain Home Air Force Base after completing basic military training and technical school. After serving a year in Korea in 1999, Sergeant Stachum returned to Mountain Home.

"Though Donny is no longer with us, his memory will forever fill our hearts," said Chief Master Sgt. Kevin Curl, 366th Mission Support Group enlisted manager. "You will be missed but never forgotten."

Throughout his career, the sergeant received numerous awards and decorations to include superior performer, academic achievements, Top Cop, the Air Force Commendation Medal with three oak leaf clusters, the Army Commendation Medal and the Air Force Achievement Medal.

"Donny was a mentor to many people and a shining example of what many of us aspire to be," said Maj. Earl Layne, 366th SFS commander.

Sergeant Stachum is survived by his wife Kendra, son Denver, mother Charlene Bradshaw and three sisters, Debbie Belser, Lori Gifford and Kari Delacour.

A trust fund was set up in Denver Stachum's name. To make a deposit, give his full name to any Wells Fargo bank.
