Walton, 4th Logistics Readiness Squadron, died Feb. 17 due to injuries suffered during an automobile accident while visiting her home state of Florida. Since being assigned here in June, the material management specialist had earned accolades as a superior performer in January's operational readiness inspection and as member of the base honor guard. "She was a shining example for her peers and an inspiration to everyone around her," said Senior Master Sgt. Timotheo Zepeda, 4th LRS. "Airman 1st Class Gina Walton was tragically taken from our 4th Wing family," said Chief Master Sgt. Harold Clark, 4th FW command chief. "She was a well-liked member of our Logistics Readiness Squadron, a member of her dormitory residents council and an enthusiastic, sharp, Airman who had a great deal of influence and impact on those around her. "Her death in a vehicle accident while on leave points out that we should all cherish the time we have together as brothers and sisters in arms defending our nation. Her legacy of caring for her friends and co-workers will live on though she indeed will be missed by all of us," Chief Clark said.
