AEF Center features new commander Published April 6, 2006 Air and Space Expeditionary Force Center Public Affairs LANGLEY AIR FORCE BASE, Va. (ACCNS) -- The Air and Space Expeditionary Force Center welcomed a new commander in a change-of-command ceremony held here March 30.Col. Brian T. Kelly was given command of the AEF Center by Gen. Ronald Keys, Air Combat Command commander. Brig. Gen Stephen L. Hoog, relinquished command and will become the director of Air Component Coordination Element, Multi-National Force in Baghdad, Iraq.“Command is the most sacred of all military responsibilities,” said Colonel Kelly. “The people of the AEF Center make up the finest team I've commanded. Our Airmen, NCO’s, contractors, civilians and officers exhibit a truly rare and renowned combination of experience and enthusiasm. From the first days I joined this team, I knew I was part of a special group that is deeply committed to the deployed Airmen and combatant commanders.”General Hoog expressed similar sentiment on the AEF Center. “The thing I am most proud of is that the AEFC has become known as an organization that solves problems,” said the departing commander. “I am extremely proud of the more than 200 military, contractors and civilians who make-up the AEFC. They know our mission is about service and they truly care about the people we are here to support.” Col. Kelly said he plans to continue to build on the center’s success. “I promise to continue the impressive momentum and reputation the center is known for.”
