Beale family earns top family child care honors Published Dec. 21, 2005 Air Combat Command Public Affairs LANGLEY AIR FORCE BASE, Va. (ACCNS) -- Air Combat Command officials have named Ms. Carol Jones, a child care provider at Beale Air Force Base, Calif., the 2005 Family Child Care Provider of the Year.Ms. Jones, who’s married to Staff Sgt Chris Jones of the 373rd Training Squadron here, earned the honor for her commitment to children and families, community involvement and contributions to the family child care program, said Dottie Cybrynski, ACC Services Family Member Programs specialist.In addition to her work as a child care provider, Ms. Jones stays active in her community with the Yuba County First Five Team, a local foster teen mentorship program, AmeriCorps and the Wheatland Preschool playground renovation project. She also mentors other providers on creating safe, inviting spaces for children, Ms. Cybrynski said.Family child care coordinators conduct the Provider of the Year program using materials and criteria established in the Scholastic Early Childhood Professional Awards Program. Nominees for the award submit a written package and video highlighting their home.Family child care providers provide more than 40 percent of care available on Air Force installations.
