ACC to honor top Airmen

LANGLEY AIR FORCE BASE, Va. (ACCNS) --   Air Combat Command officials will honor the commands Outstanding Airmen and First Sergeant of the Year nominees at a banquet here April 15.

The 24 nominees for the ACC-level awards represent the Headquarters ACC staff, the Air Intelligence Agency, the Air Warfare Center, and 8th, 9th and 12th Air Forces.

During the banquet, Gen. Hal M. Hornburg, ACC commander, will announce the command's four nominees for the Air Force-level Twelve Outstanding Airmen of the Year competition.

The theme for this years event is Excellence in Airmanship.

Nominees in the Outstanding Airman of the Year category are:

n Staff Sgt. Charles J. Parker, Headquarters Air Combat Command, Langley AFB, Va.;

n Senior Airman Mandy D. Morden, 453rd Electronic Warfare Squadron, AIA, Lackland AFB, Texas;

n Senior Airman Adam C. Lawson, 547th Intelligence Squadron, AWFC, Nellis AFB, Nev.;

n Senior Airman Justin M. Trainor, 9th Reconnaissance Wing, 8th AF, Beale AFB, Calif.;

n Staff Sgt. Terri D. Palmer, 15th Air Support Operations Squadron, 9th AF, Hunter Army Air Field, Ga.; and

n Senior Airman Jacob J. Roney, 28th Comptroller Squadron, 12th AF, Ellsworth AFB, S.D.

Nominees in the Outstanding Noncommissioned Officer of the Year category are:

n Tech. Sgt. Eugene Baker, HQ ACC, Langley AFB, Va.;

n Tech. Sgt. Edward G. Pineda, AIA, Patrick AFB, Fla.;

n Staff Sgt. Thomas J. Galetto, AWFC, Nellis AFB, Nev.;

n Tech Sgt. Robyn A. Owens, 54th Combat Communications Squadron, 9th AF, Robins AFB, Ga.; and

Nominees in the Outstanding Senior NCO of the Year category are:
