The Air Force hosted a congressional delegation as a part of the East Coast Airpower Demonstration, March 4, here.

The East Coast Airpower Demonstration allowed the delegation to spend the day with Airmen learning about the mission, capabilities and platforms that the Air Force provides to combatant commanders in support of global operations.

“This is a great opportunity for us to showcase our Airmen and the unique capabilities of the Air Force,” said U.S. Air Force Col. Thomas Kunkel, 23d Wing commander. “It takes a lot of coordinated effort for an aircraft to fly and successfully complete a mission and it’s great to show how many of those components work together from start to finish.”

Congressional delegates viewed multiple aircraft perform a simulated combat search and rescue and close air support operation. The participating aircraft included the F-15E Strike Eagle, F-16C Fighting Falcon, CV-22 Osprey, A-10C Thunderbolt II, HH-60G Pave Hawk and C-130J Combat King II.
