MOUNTAIN HOME, Idaho -- Local police departments and military members came together Dec. 4 to give children in the Shop with a Cop program a Christmas to remember.
Elmore and Ada county businesses and agencies made donations enabling more than 100 children to receive gift certificates to go holiday shopping for themselves and their families.
This is the first year the program has received enough donations to provide the parents gift cards to a local grocery store to buy Christmas dinner.
Airmen from Mountain Home Air Force Base and local police departments donated their time to chaperone the children as they went on a shopping spree. Volunteers also helped wrap gifts for the children as they boys and girls lined up to visit Santa.
