About 2,500 middle school through college-level students from across New Mexico came out to learn about the science, technology, engineering and mathematics fields. They also had the opportunity to learn about careers and training in the aerospace industries.
  • Express Scripts Pharmacy Network Changing for TRICARE Beneficiaries

    Express Scripts, Inc. (ESI) today announced upcoming changes to the retail pharmacy network it manages on behalf of TRICARE. On Dec. 1, 2016, Walgreens pharmacy locations will join the network. CVS pharmacies, including those in Target stores, will leave the network on the same day. The new network will have more than 57,000 locations nationwide, and ensures TRICARE beneficiaries have timely access to retail pharmacies in their community.

    To celebrate National Hispanic Heritage Month, the 93rd Signal Brigade hosted an observance at Wylie Theater on Sept. 22, 2016, here. According to the Library of Congress, NHHM was initially observed as National Hispanic Heritage Week in September 1968. The commemorative week included September 15 and 16, and also celebrated the independence anniversaries of Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras and Nicaragua.
  • Moody Family Support Center Founder retires after 30 years

    Ann Lukens is a quilter. She pieces assorted fabrics of different shapes, colors and sizes into beautiful works of art. She created a 20th anniversary quilt representing all 18 Air Combat Command Family Support Centers that was placed on permanent display at Langley Air Force Base, Va. in 2001. It’s this same attention to detail, commitment and ability to see the bigger picture that Ann used to build the first Family Support Center, now known as the [Airmen and Family Readiness Center, followed by the School Liaison Program] at Moody AFB, piecing together programs benefitting military families. On Aug. 31, Lukens retired after faithfully serving Moody’s community and the Air Force. Retired United States Air Force Brig. Gen. Kenneth Todorov, presided at a ceremony honoring her 30 years of service.
  • Air Force changes utility allowance for privatized housing residents

    The Air Force revised its utility allowance policy May 18 to ensure quality on-base housing for military families and continue to cover utility costs for the average energy consumer. For new tenants, the revised policy for the majority of residents will now be calculated using monthly meter readings instead of a five-year average with a 10-percent buffer the previous policy used. Current occupants will remain grandfathered in the old system for one year. Under the former policy, military privatized housing projects spent hundreds of thousands of dollars annually on rebates that went to residents whose actual energy consumption rates were above average, said Jennifer Miller, Deputy Assistant Secretary of the Air Force for Installations.
