Box Turtle Survey

James Dolan, 733rd Civil Engineer Division environmental element wildlife biologist, measures an eastern box turtle found during the third annual Box Turtle Survey in Training Areas 1 and 2 at Fort Eustis, Va., April 23, 2013. The survey was part of the installation’s Earth Week celebration April 22-26. Biologists and volunteers surveyed the area to determine the box turtle survey population. The number of turtles can help give an idea of how well a habitat is functioning. (U.S. Air Force photo by Tech. Sgt. April Wickes/Released)
