U.S. Air Force Maj. Gen. Lawrence Wells thanks U.S. Air Force Airman 1st Class Kasey Shelley and U.S. Air Force Staff Sgt. Travis Lechleiter for a job well done at Seymour Johnson Air Force Base, N.C., Jan. 13, 2012. Wells, 9th Air Force commander, oversaw a flagship competition here. During the competition flagship dedicated crew chiefs and their assistants were ranked on how aesthetically pleasing their aircraft was, aircraft forms, the ability to answer maintenance questions based on their skill levels and the Airmen’s appearance. The overall competition winners were Lechleiter and Shelly. Both Airmen are 333rd Aircraft Maintenance Unit crew chiefs. Shelly hails from Muncie, Ind. Lechleiter hails from Redding, Calif.
