U.S. Air Force Senior Airman Virgil Campbell, 366th Component Maintenance Squadron aircraft maintenance fuel systems journeyman, inspects an F-15E Strike Eagle external fuel tank inside the Vertical Tank Storage System at Mountain Home Air Force Base, Idaho, Oct. 27, 2011. The $2.5 million VTSS replaces a loading method which required four Airmen to work outdoors using a technique called “buddy bars,” where they would manually load and unload a tank and transport it using a spider dolly. The new equipment has cut down load and unload time from about an hour to less than five minutes. (U.S. Air Force photo by Senior Airman Alyssa C. Wallace/Released)
