U.S. Air Force Airmen with the 18th Air Support Operations Group and 3d ASOG provide more than 1,500 air liaison officers, joint terminal attack controllers, tactical air control party members and battlefield weather Airmen to the Army. Airmen with the ASOG handle situations like calling in recon drones to help collect intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance for the ground forces or provide assistance with electronic warfare suppression. They also provide the battlefield commander with their expertise of the air space and inform them on what options are available. (U.S. Air Force Airmen 1st Class Nicolas Benroth/Released)
