OZARK, Ala. -- A black flag with the words “Prisoner of War and Missing in Action, You are not forgotten” blows in the wind Jan. 22 during a memorial service for 1st Lt. Robert Franklin Dees, a 430th Fighter-Bomber Squadron, 474th Fighter Bomber Group F-84E Thunderjet fighter pilot, whose aircraft was shot down over North Korea in 1952 during a combat mission. Besides military members and family members, many retired veterans came to show their support for their fallen Airman and rejoiced in the fact that after more than a half a century Lieutenant Dees has finally come home to be laid to rest.
