71 FS jettisons initial two Eagles

LANGLEY AIR FORCE BASE, Va. -- F-15 Eagles from the 71st Fighter Squadron, tail numbers 84-024 and 83-026, sit on the flight line prior to their transfer to Nellis Air Force Base, Nev., June 21. The fighters are the first two Eagles to be transferred to other units due to the impending inactivation of the 71 FS. The plane’s tails are devoid of the 71 FS’ trademark red “Ironmen” stripe.
