Troops keep pilots on guard

MOUNTAIN HOME AIR FORCE BASE, Idaho -- The 266th Range Squadron here uses Multiple Threat Emitter Systems, or MUTES, to provide realistic electronic warfare training in the form of suface-to-air threats to aircrews to improve survival skills of pilots and aircrews. The MUTES used by the squadron can simulate more than 50 different threats aimed at friendly aircraft. Air Force photo
