Base’s last F-16s leave

MOUNTAIN HOME AIR FORCE BASE, Idaho -- One of the base’s last five F-16s roars off the base’s flightline bound for its new assignment at McEntire Air National Guard Base, S.C., March 29. It marked the last time Mountain Home called itself home to these F-16s. The departure completed a five-month plan to move these jets as part of the 2005 Base Realignment and Closure Commission’s recommendations. The plan included consolidating the Air Force’s F-15 and F-16 fighter aircraft at selected bases. Air Force photo by Airman 1st Class Ryan Crane
