End of an era

MOUNTAIN HOME AIR FORCE BASE, Idaho -- Symbolizing the transfer of the 389th Fighter Squadron’s led aircraft, Staff Sgt. David Lang passes his aircraft’s wheel chalks to Senior Airman Jaime Montano during the squadron’s “fini flight” ceremony here March 16. Sergeant Lang served as the dedicated crew chief for the squadron’s lead F-16 up until the squadron officially transferred the unit’s role to the F-15E Strike Eagle at the event. The squadron’s last five F-16s permanently leave the base March 29 as part of the 366th Fighter Wing’s move to a core F-15E unit. Air Force photo by Master Sgt. Dave Wheeler
