Col Jeffry Smith, 28th Bomb Wing Commander (left) and Senior Master Sgt. Darron Williams, 28th OSS, lead the pack during the annual Dakota Thunder Motorcycle club’s trip to Sturgis. The ride was in conjunction with Sturgis Military Appreciation Day and featured nearly 200 motorcycle enthusiasts joining in. The pack of riders rode non-stop from just outside Ellsworth’s main gate to Sturgis and then took part in a ceremony where a military veteran was honored.
