MOUNTAIN HOME AIR FORCE BASE, Idaho -- Maj. Charles McFarland, 366th Equipment Maintenance Squadron commander, presents a squadron coin to German air force Senior Master Sgt. Juergen Fuermeyer during a ceremony at the Gunfighters Club Dec. 12. Sergeant Fuermeyer, first sergeant with the German air force Flying Training Center’s logistic group headquarters at Holloman Air Force Base, N.M., led a fund raiser within his unit to raise $1,250 to benefit two base families whose children face chronic medical problems. The first sergeant raised money off tips he received by polishing the boots of members from his unit while others like German air force Staff Sgt. Hartmut Hoppe raised the additional money. Members of the German air force unit visited Mountain Home from Dec. 1 to 15 to complete the mission employment phase of their school’s fighter weapon instructor course.
