Gunfighters win maintenance duel

Tech. Sgt. Keith Hoffman, right, and Staff Sgt. Kevin Fogo, both with the 366th Maintenance Operations Squadron Maintenance Training Flight, look over the cutaway version of an F100 fighter engine to prepare for an upcoming class. Instead of using two-dimensional drawings of jet engines, the training organization uses the full-scale engine to improve the quality of their lessons by giving students more hands-on experience. Wing maintenance officials lauded the cutaway engine idea as one of its top innovations presented to Air Combat Command inspectors Nov. 15 as part of the command’s annual Daedalian maintenance competition.
