Members of the 366th Civil Engineer Squadron paving and equipment flight, remove rubber deposits on the flightline. When the jets land, the tires leave marks and over time the rubber clogs the pores of the pavement causing a loss in traction upon landing. Removal takes about four hours and includes wetting the pavement, spraying a chemical and then driving trucks with spinning brushes up and down the area to scrub the pavement clean.
