BALAD AIR BASE, Iraq -- A Predator unmanned aerial vehicle reflects the desert sun at Balad Air Base, Iraq. Providing "real-time eyes-in-the-skies," the world's largest Predator operation is based here with a squadron of about 20 aircraft. Flying more than 130 missions in May, Predators often worked closely with ground forces, patrolled convoy routes, supported ground force raids and flew as aerial sentries to deter attacks on infrastructure and people in Iraq.
