ATLANTIC OCEAN (April 29, 2009) -- A Harpoon missile is launched by the guided missile destroyer USS Donald Cook (DDG 75) during a sinking exercise off the coast of Florida. Donald Cook is participating in UNITAS Gold, the 50th iteration of the multi-national UNITAS exercise involving the nations of Brazil, Canada, Chile, Colombia, Ecuador, Germany, Mexico, Peru, Mexico, and the United States. The two-week exercise includes realistic scenario-driven training opportunities such as live-fire exercises, shipboard operations, maritime interdiction operations and special warfare.
