Operations HEROES shows young warriors what parents do when deployed

MINOT AIR FORCE BASE, N.D. -- Staff Sgt. Tanya Parkhurst, 5th Security Forces Squadron, instructs children on the correct way to hold an M-16A2 rifle during the 2nd annual Operation HEROES here Oct. 21. The purpose of the Operation HEROES was to give children of deploying family members a better understanding of what their military parents go through in order to deploy.
