Air Force Pamphlet 48-151 states that Airmen must adhere to the work/rest cycles according to the Wet Bulb Globe Thermometer Stages. When the temperature rises above 82 degrees Fahrenheit heat stress conditions start at stage two and can go as high as five when the temperature is above 90 degrees Fahrenheit. Recognition of heat illness is the key principle in treatment and management. (U.S. Air Force graphic by Airman 1st Class Kylsee Wisseman/Released)
