Seven radioisotope thermoelectric generators are lined up aboard an Air Force C-17 Globemaster III after being removed from Burnt Mountain, Alaska, and transported to Creech AFB, Nevada, July 24, 2015, in preparation for permanent disposal at the Nevada National Security Site. The RTGs, which contain nuclear material, were once used as a power source for the Air Force Technical Applications Center's seismic array, which monitors seismic activity in the region.
