Gunfighters conduct 24-hour ops
The last rays of sunlight stretch over the water tower at Mountain Home Air Force Base, Idaho, March 16, 2016. The 366th Fighter Wing took part in a Sortie Surge March 14-17. In French, the word sortie means "a going out" from a Latin root, "surgere," or "rise up." Aircrews use the term to describe any time an aircraft takes off and then lands.
