Firefighters teach fire safety

Col. Houston Cantwell, the 49th Wing Commander, signs the Fire Prevention Week proclamation at Holloman Air Force Base, N.M. on Oct. 9, 2016. Holloman Air Force Base’s Fire Prevention Week is annually practiced in commemoration of the great Chicago Fire of 1871. Members with the 49th Civil Engineer Squadron Fire Protection Flight performed fire drills, and educated people on proper use of a fire extinguisher and the importance of changing out batteries in smoke alarms every six months.
