He is responsible for the policy, budget, and oversight of ACC's maintenance, munitions, supply, transportation, civil engineering, and force protection functions. Mr. Novak provides direction and oversight to more than 42,000 personnel assigned to 17 bases and over 70 operating locations worldwide who maintain and support more than 1,100 fighters, special mission aircraft and over 800 Mine Resistant Ambush Protected vehicles. He is also responsible for determining requirements, planning, programming, design and construction of facilities while maintaining combat ready security forces units for rapid deployment and employment.
He advises the ACC commander and staff on mishap trends, problem areas, and command-level initiatives. In addition he provides direction, guidance, and assistance to all of the command’s safety investigations. Colonel Owen oversees safety guidance for 22 wings, 26 weapon systems, over 1,000 aircraft and 136,000 personnel.
Colonel Vercellone is licensed to practice law before the Supreme Court of the State of Kansas, the United States Air Force Court of Criminal Appeals, United States Court of Appeals for the Armed Forces, and the United States Supreme Court.
Colonel R. Cary Amburn is the Director of Communications, Headquarters Air Combat Command, Joint Base Langley-Eustis, Virginia. He is responsible for cyberspace and communications policy, resource advocacy, and program management supporting ACC’s mission—providing combat ready forces to deliver dominant combat airpower in support of national security strategy implementation.
