Gen. Chad Franks, Ninth Air Force commander, flew the initial flight in his flagship aircraft, an HH-60G Pave Hawk assigned to the 41st RQS. Franks, who on separate occasions served as the commander for the 23d Wing and 347th Rescue Group, is a command pilot with more than 3,300 hours in multiple aircraft including HC-130J Combat King II and HH-60G Pave Hawk.
